Panel materials: I used a sampler block of crazy patchwork that I had made about twenty years ago and never got around to using because of its small dimensions. It turned out to be exactly right for the panel. The fabrics were from my own stash. I embroidered her name on some off cuts of the moire fabric my mother had used to cover the dining room chairs in my childhood home. The embroidery thread for the letters was the end of a skein which I found in my box, just the right amount again for the job.
