Annie was living on Napier Terrace, Napier when she signed the 1893 petition, the first signature on sheet 441.

I chose this person as a gentle nod to my Grannie Anne Saunders, my grandmother’s stepmother. My Grannie Annie wasn’t around to sign the petition but this signatory has the same name. I was glad to find a namesake who was also from the same area when I looked through the petition to choose someone.

Panel materials: I used fabric scraps I had already, cord from my mother, and embroidery thread. I bought some light white cotton for the base.
