Relationship to makers: Annie won an award for crocheting when she was 16. I spend a lot of time crocheting.
Annie S Tregaskis was born Sarah Ann Joynt in 1866, in Auckland. Her parents, Amelia and Charles Joynt were Irish immigrants.
In November 1883 Annie won an award for crocheting an antimacassar in a Sunday school exhibition.
On the 19 March 1887 she married James Martyn Tregaskis, a bowls enthusiast and accountant originally from St. Issey Cornwall. On the 16 September 1887 their son Thomas Joynt Tregaskis was born. Annie’s mother and sister also signed the petition. Annie died at age 73 in 1939. She is buried alongside her husband at Waikumete cemetery.
