Eveline Kenny and her sister, Lillah, both signed the petition. Eveline was 19 or 20 at the time.

Eveline was born in Cambridge, Waikato, in 1873 and later moved to Auckland. She was a dressmaker and had a small business with her sister and mother.

In her later years she lived with her sisters and mother in the family home on Roslyn Terrace in Devonport. She sometimes spelled her name Evelyn, especially after 1900.

She married late in life and died tragically in a house fire.
