Ellen Stephens was originally from Surrey, where she was born in 1861.

She married Charles (Charlie) Gore, a general labourer, and had three children: Charles (1884), Lettie (1890), and Nellie (1893).

Ellen signed the petition in Bunnythorpe, in Manawatu, along with 44 others. She was still there in 1925, but as a widow.

Ellen died in 1932 and was buried at Bunnythorpe cemetery, as were her husband and three children.

Panel materials: Cotton from fabric stash, a friend gave me the backing fabric. Painted the cloth using Lumiere paints and quilted on top of the paint. Aida cloth, embroidery thread, and beads. Only purchase was the small piece of lace.
