Elizabeth Murray Oliver was born in August 1864, in Martinborough, Wairarapa.
She married twice, first to William Ezra Dalton in September 1882 in Greytown when she was 18.
Her second husband was Joseph Walter Moran, whom she married in December 1902 in Wanganui. Elizabeth was 34 when she married Joseph, aged 35. No record was found of a divorce from William, who was still living when Elizabeth married Joseph. Elizabeth’s second marriage certificate gives her name as Elizabeth Murray Oliver and her status as ‘spinster’.
Elizabeth had four children. She passed away in Porirua in April 1941 and was buried at Kelvin Grove cemetery in Palmerston North.
