Mary Sarah Crawford Bellamy was born in 1857 in Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia, the daughter of Mrs and John Bellamy. She was 36 years old when she signed the petition, and living in Howe Street, Dunedin. 

She later married Benjamin L Miers and they had two children together. She died in Queensland in 1947 at the age of 90.
